Like-for-like ceiling swaps for a rented box room

Wiring: a like-for-like swap on the existing ceiling point, with no new cable, isn't notifiable in England or Wales; a new circuit is (Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules). Fixing: uses the existing ceiling point; your tenancy agreement decides whether you may swap it. 1978 like-for-like ceiling swaps for a box room: median price £162, from £11 to £2,732.

Plug-in and rechargeable lights don’t touch the building, so there is nothing to ask your landlord.

Why no ceiling pendants here

A ceiling pendant connects to a ceiling point and screws to the ceiling. As a renter, that needs an electrician and possibly your landlord’s consent. If you already have a ceiling point and permission, see pendants by ceiling height.
